JOB SCOPE
Is responsible to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing initiatives across multiple platforms. This role acts as the operational backbone of the marketing team, ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals. The role is the custodian of the marketing function and is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in managing creative production, marketing workflows, and vendor relationships. To coordinate the execution of marketing and brand initiatives that promote the Namibia tourism brand. The role focuses on the development and implementation of advertising campaigns, promotional material production, guest engagement, and media liaison, ensuring alignment with NTB brand standards and supporting both international and domestic marketing efforts.
Main responsibilities & performance areas
Brand Coordination: Develop and maintain brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels. Lead brand positioning and messaging strategies to strengthen brand equity. Conduct regular brand audits and market research to guide brand strategy. Ensure consistent application of NTB’s brand across all communication platforms, collateral, and digital assets, developing and maintaining comprehensive brand guidelines to support this. Collaborate with creative agencies, vendors, and internal teams to produce branded content, ensuring alignment with brand standards and messaging. Support and coordinate brand initiatives for tourism stakeholders, including organizing workshops, training sessions, and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of branding campaigns and initiatives, conducting periodic brand audits and providing recommendations for continuous improvement. Manage the production of branded materials such as brochures, banners, and merchandise, and facilitate the integration of branding elements into new projects and events. Track and report on brand compliance across departments and partners, supporting crisis communication efforts and staying abreast of industry branding trends to incorporate innovative strategies.
Marketing Strategy & Campaigns: Plan, implement, and manage integrated marketing campaigns (digital, print, media). Oversee marketing calendar, content planning, and campaign execution. Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with business goals. Collaborate with designers and vendors to develop, review, and approve marketing materials, ensuring consistency with NTB’s branding and messaging. Manage production, quality control, and timely distribution of collateral, including brochures, maps, flyers, digital content, and promotional items. Maintain inventory, oversee updates of existing materials, and coordinate customization for events and campaigns. Ensure digital content adheres to branding guidelines and is optimized across platforms. Track collateral usage and effectiveness to inform future strategies. Support multilingual material development as needed.
Promotions: Design and execute promotional strategies to increase awareness, sales, and consumer loyalty. Manage seasonal and product-based promotions across channels (retail, online, experiential). Measure and analyze promotion effectiveness and ROI.
Events & Exhibitions: Plan and manage corporate events, product launches, trade shows, exhibitions, and sponsorships. Oversee all aspects of event logistics including budgeting, vendor coordination, venue selection, and on-site management. Work closely with creative teams on booth design, event branding, and promotional materials.
Advertising & Promotions Coordination: Assist in planning, developing, and executing advertising campaigns across media channels. Coordinate with media agencies, vendors, and partners to ensure effective ad placement, timing, and budget management. Maintain and update NTB’s content and image library to ensure consistency and relevance. Engage with media outlets and influencers for sponsorships and collaborations. Monitor website and campaign analytics, extracting insights to optimize future efforts. Support promotional event organization, negotiate ad placements, and ensure messaging aligns with branding standards. Conduct market research to identify new advertising opportunities and ensure promotional activities contribute to overall marketing objectives.
Media Liaison & Guest Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media to enhance coverage. Support media familiarization trips, press visits, and coordinate media interviews, briefings, and attendance at events. Assist with logistics and planning for events, roadshows, and trade activities. Draft and distribute newsletters, press releases, and media content to promote NTB initiatives. Monitor media coverage and public perception, serving as a point of contact for inquiries. Organize media training for NTB staff and develop media strategies with marketing teams. Manage guest engagement activities, including VIP visits and influencer collaborations. Maintain an up-to-date media contact database and evaluate outreach effectiveness to refine future strategies. Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and media kits as needed. Lead a team of marketing and events professionals, agencies, and freelancers. Collaborate with cross-functional departments (sales, design, PR, digital) to align messaging and activities. Manage external vendors, media partners, and contractors
Marketing Project Execution: Implement marketing plans aligned with NTB’s strategy, tracking progress and deliverables. Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute campaigns, manage collateral production, and oversee digital marketing efforts across platforms. Monitor campaign performance, adjust strategies as needed, and ensure alignment with branding guidelines. Facilitate stakeholder communication, conduct post-campaign evaluations, and recommend improvements. Coordinate logistics for events and trade shows, manage vendor relationships, and prepare regular progress reports. Ensure all activities comply with legal and corporate standards.
Graphic Design & Visual Communication: To support NTB’s branding and advertising initiatives through the development, coordination, and review of high-quality visual content that effectively communicates the Namibia tourism brand across platforms. Collaborate with internal teams and external designers to conceptualize and produce visually appealing graphics for brochures, banners, digital content, advertisements, and promotional items. Ensure all visual materials adhere to NTB’s brand guidelines and reflect the intended message for both domestic and international audiences. Assist in reviewing, editing, and approving graphic designs prior to production or publication to ensure visual consistency and brand alignment. Manage and maintain visual asset libraries, including images, templates, and multimedia files, ensuring accessibility and up-to-date content. Support the adaptation of visuals for different formats and languages to meet campaign-specific requirements.
Administrative and Support Functions: Organize departmental files and documentation for easy access. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items. Assist with procurement, vendor sourcing, purchase orders, and expense tracking. Manage calendars and appointments for the team and stakeholders. Support internal communications, onboarding, and logistics for travel and events. Track budgets and reconcile expenses. Help prepare reports, presentations, and manage inventory of marketing materials. Support training sessions and oversee digital tools and software. Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned to ensure departmental efficiency.
Key Qualifications and Experience Required:
A bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or related field. Excellent knowledge of the Namibian tourism industry and knowledge of the tourism product in the region.
Postgraduate qualification (above NQF Level 7) in digital marketing, Multimedia, Communications, or related field.
Key Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience in marketing, branding, tourism promotion, media coordination or brand communication with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Experience in B2B or B2C marketing environments. Familiarity with digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems. Strong vendor and budget management skills.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Strong sense of visual design, layout, and storytelling.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Collaboration and communication skills in working with internal teams and vendors. Sound understanding of Namibia’s tourism landscape. Knowledge of branding, media planning, and promotional strategies.
