NTB Empowers Tourism MSMEs Through Entrepreneurship Training

The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) recently conducted an Entrepreneurship Training Programme for tourism MSMEs in Swakopmund, aimed at strengthening the capacity of emerging and established tourism businesses.

The training focused on entrepreneurial skills, business knowledge and practical tools to help tourism enterprises improve their operations, grow sustainably and take advantage of opportunities within Namibia’s tourism sector. The programme was specifically targeted at tourism MSMEs in the Erongo Region, with limited spaces available to ensure meaningful engagement.

The initiative forms part of NTB’s broader commitment to supporting tourism entrepreneurs through capacity building, mentorship and skills development. NTB has emphasised that developing sustainable tourism enterprises, particularly start-ups and MSMEs, is essential to strengthening the tourism value chain and ensuring that economic benefits reach local communities.

The Swakopmund training also provided participants with an opportunity to network, exchange experiences and gain insights that can contribute to building more competitive and resilient tourism businesses.

Through initiatives such as these, NTB continues to support entrepreneurship, innovation and inclusive growth within Namibia’s tourism industry.
