Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the inaugural Creative, Sports & Tourism (CST) Expo, held from 2 to 4 September 2026 at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek, as Namibia continues to explore innovative opportunities to position tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, investment and destination development.
The three-day expo brought together stakeholders from the tourism, sports and creative industries, providing a platform for businesses, government institutions, entrepreneurs, investors and industry players to network, showcase their offerings and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The CST Expo is a landmark initiative aimed at bringing together three interconnected sectors – creativity, sport and tourism – and leveraging their combined potential to stimulate economic activity, create employment opportunities and promote Namibian talent. The event was designed to connect tourism operators, sports federations, creative entrepreneurs, investors and public institutions in developing new products, partnerships and sustainable revenue streams.
For NTB, participation in the expo provided an opportunity to highlight Namibia as a diverse and experiential destination, while demonstrating how tourism can be integrated with other sectors to create new visitor experiences and economic opportunities.
A key focus of NTB’s participation was cruise tourism, in collaboration with the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport). The two institutions showcased Namibia’s potential as a cruise destination and highlighted the important role of the country’s ports in facilitating international visitor arrivals and supporting the broader tourism value chain.
The collaboration also underscored the importance of strengthening linkages between maritime infrastructure and tourism products. By working together, NTB and Namport aim to contribute to positioning Namibia more prominently on the international cruise tourism map and to maximise the economic benefits generated by cruise visitors.
The expo further demonstrated the growing potential of combining tourism with creativity, technology, entertainment and sport. With travellers increasingly seeking authentic and memorable experiences, Namibia has an opportunity to expand beyond conventional tourism offerings and develop innovative experiences that connect the country’s landscapes, culture, people, sport and creative industries.
NTB’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to partnerships, innovation and product diversification as key components of destination development. Through collaboration with institutions such as Namport and other stakeholders across the tourism, sports and creative sectors, Namibia can continue to develop a more connected and competitive tourism industry.
