Namibia Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHISS), convened a Cruise Tourism Stakeholder Engagement in Walvis Bay. The engagement brought together representatives from government, the tourism industry, law enforcement, port authorities, and the private sector to discuss strategies for enhancing Namibia’s cruise tourism offering.
The engagement provided a platform to review the current state of cruise tourism, identify opportunities to improve the visitor experience, and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders. Discussions focused on enhancing passenger facilitation, improving coordination across institutions, and positioning Namibia as a competitive and visitor-friendly cruise destination.
The event reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to work together in strengthening cruise tourism, recognising its growing contribution to the country’s tourism sector and local economic development.
