JOB SCOPE

The IT Technician is the first line of defence for IT support in NTB.  The role is responsible to deliver hands‑on support, from installing and configuring devices to resolving software, hardware, printing, and connectivity issues. The incumbent works closely with end-users across teams, ensure accurate ticket logging, and escalate when needed. Your mix of people skills and technical know-how helps power everyday operation. 

Main responsibilities & performance areas

User Support & Troubleshooting: Respond to calls, chats, emails, or walk-ups; log and resolve tickets via remote or onsite support. Triage hardware/software issues (PC, Mac, mobile devices, printers, VPNs, Wi-Fi). Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/Systems teams when required. 

System Setup & Maintenance: Provision and configure workstations, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals using standard images and scripts. Apply patches, antivirus updates, and system upgrades per schedule. Maintain inventory records and asset tracking.

Network & Infrastructure Assistance: Support LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity issues, handle DHCP/DNS resets, manage cabling and printer sharing. Conduct basic network testing (speed, ping, traceroute) as needed.

Security & Compliance: Ensure devices comply with security policies and data protection standards. Enforce password policies, and antivirus tools. Assist with audits and incident mitigation as needed

Documentation & Training: Maintain knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures. Train users on software applications and IT tools. Conduct orientation for new employee  

Key Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Certificate or diploma required or equivalent. In information technology or related field preferred. CompTIA A+ strongly preferred; Network+, Microsoft Modern Desktop Admin (or equivalent IT support credential) is an advantage

Key Experience:

1 – 3 years in a similar position

Special Requirements:

  • Comfortable across Windows, Mac, (basic Linux if possible); including OS installation and software deployment.
  • Familiar with helpdesk platforms (Jira, ServiceNow, Fresh service), remote-access tools, and asset systems.
  • Confident setting up users in Active Directory, M365/Azure AD
