The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) strengthened its destination marketing efforts in the Chinese market during July 2026 through strategic cooperation agreements with leading Chinese media organisations, creating new opportunities to showcase Namibia’s tourism experiences to wider international audiences.
On 11 July 2026, NTB and China Media Group (CMG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between Namibia and the People’s Republic of China through media collaboration, destination promotion and cultural exchange. The agreement was concluded during the State Visit of H.E. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to China, adding a tourism dimension to the growing bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The cooperation framework provides opportunities for tourism programme production, promotional activities, exhibitions, tourism projects and initiatives aimed at promoting greater cultural understanding. Through CMG’s extensive television, radio and digital reach, the partnership creates an important platform for strengthening awareness of Namibia and supporting NTB’s efforts to diversify the country’s international tourism source markets.
